Warranty & Returns

How do I return a product?

If you wish to cancel your order before we’ve despatched it, please either call us on 0161 711 0711 or send us an email at service@greatbritishmobility.co.uk. We usually despatch items on the same or next day to give you quick delivery, so please try and get in touch as soon as possible if there's a problem with your order.

Returning/Exchanging an unwanted order after despatch

  • You have the right to return your order within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods. After this period we cannot accept any returns.
  • You must return your order to "Great British Mobility, Mobility House, Owen Street, Preston, PR1 5DT", We recommend TNT/FedEx to do this. If you are unable to manage the return unaided please contact us so we can assist.
  • Please keep hold of any packing for larger items until you are sure you are keeping it as returning a large item without the packaging may be difficult.
  • We will not refund you any supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than free delivery.
  • If the product(s) are not returned in their original condition, we reserve the right to charge for repair or replacement of any product(s).
  • Unfortunately we cannot accept returns on product(s) that are built to order, have been adapted to suit your requirements, or for products that can void Health & Safety regulations if used e.g. incontinence, bathroom or toilet products. A refund can only be given if the product(s) arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect.
  • Your refund will be processed back to the payment method used to place the order. Refunds can take 5 - 10 working days to be processed.

Under the CCR (Consumer Contracts Regulations), we are obligated to refund the base postage cost of every order. This means you will be refunded the lowest price delivery option available to you at time of purchase for most items we sell this is the free delivery option, for smaller orders this refund will be the royal mail delivery charge. In compliance with CCR, upgraded postage options such as 'pallet' service and white glove delivery are non-refundable.

What warranty does the scooter come with?

1. What’s covered

For 12 months from when you bought it, we’ll fix or replace anything that breaks because it was made wrong—not because it wore out, was damaged, or wasn’t looked after.

2. Free home callouts

If something covered by the warranty goes wrong while your
scooter is in Mainland England, Scotland, or Wales, we’ll send an
engineer to your home for free—except for batteries (see next section).

3. Batteries – how their warranty works

Batteries have a return-to-base warranty only.

That means:

  • If you think your batteries are faulty, you send them to our head office.
  • We’ll test them in our workshop.
  • If they fail because of a manufacturing fault, we’ll send you
    replacements for free.
  • If the problem is because they weren’t charged or maintained correctly, we
    will:
  1. Call you to explain what we found.
  2. Give you tips on how to fix or improve the batteries (if possible).
  3. If the batteries can’t be recovered, we’ll give you a price for new ones
and send them once payment is received.

4. What’s not covered by free callouts

Some problems are normal wear and tear or accidental damage,
so they aren’t covered by free visits. These include:

  • Things that wear out: bulbs, fuses, tyres, inner tubes, brake pads
  • Punctures
  • Batteries (see section 3)
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, neglect, or unauthorised repairs
  • Routine servicing or adjustments

We can still come out for these, but we’ll charge our standard callout and repair rates.

5. London visits

If you’re in Greater London, any home visit has a £40 surcharge, even for warranty repairs. This covers parking,
congestion/emission charges, and the extra travel time London traffic causes.
