We have been selling and fixing mobility scooters from Preston since 1996. Thirty years is long enough to have seen every make go in and out of fashion — and long enough to know which ones we are still happy to send an engineer out to.
Who we are
There are twenty-seven of us at Mobility House on Owen Street in Preston, and a network of engineers covering mainland UK. Two of us answer the phones. The other twenty-five build, service, test, pack and load, and they have been here between three and ten years each — which is why, when you ring, you get someone who works on these machines rather than someone reading from a screen.
We are not a call centre, and we are not a drop-shipper. The machines we sell are ones we hold, know and service ourselves. When you ring us, the person who answers will tell you if the scooter you are looking at is wrong for your driveway, too heavy for your car boot, or more than you actually need. We would rather sell you the right one once than the wrong one twice.
What we have done lately
- Over 5,000 orders delivered in the last three years
- Since 1996 — nearly thirty years of trading
- Engineers across mainland UK, so a warranty repair happens at your home
- A workshop team of twenty-five, each with three to ten years here
- Eight manufacturers we stock, hold parts for, and will send an engineer out to — see who they are
Why we are picky about brands
We deliberately carry a short list. Every manufacturer we stock is one we can get parts for quickly and one our engineers are trained on, because a mobility scooter that cannot be repaired is not a bargain at any price.
If you have been recommended something we do not sell, ring and ask — we will tell you honestly whether it is any good, and whether we can get it.
What happens after you buy
This is the part most people do not think about until something goes wrong.
- A 12-month at-home warranty is included on scooters and powerchairs. If it breaks, an engineer comes to you — you are not boxing up a scooter and posting it anywhere. Cover can be extended to up to five years.
- One month's free insurance, supplied by Mark Bates Ltd, added with one tick in your basket.
- 14 days to try it at home. Wrong size, wrong feel, or simply not what you pictured — return or exchange it.
- VAT relief if you have a long-term illness or are disabled, confirmed at checkout in seconds.
